How Do I Become A Pilot

The Private Pilot Course is the first course that an incoming pilot is mandated to take, which follows a syllabus approved by the FAA. You will be working with one instructor for the duration and will have a personalized schedule based on your availability and desired pace. We find 2-3 lessons per week is the ideal number of flights to get through the training quickly.

How Long Does it Take to Get My Private Pilot License (PPL)

Penn Flight Academy offers flexible scheduling, encouraging students to partake at their own pace. Some students complete this Private Pilot course in under 3 months, others take longer. It is all based on the students themselves. Standard lessons are 2 hours long, which you can schedule on all days of the week, from 7 am to 7 pm.

How Old Do I need To Be To Start Lessons

There is no minimum age to start lessons or even to take the introductory flight. 16 years old is the minimum age to solo the airplane for your training and 17 years old is the minimum to obtain your license.
